Meet the Founder: A Personal Approach to Private Staffing

Hi, I’m Tom, founder of Home Port. My career started in recruitment and then I unexpectedly took a turn into the world of yachting. After walking the docks in Antibes and landing a job onboard, I worked for UHNW clients, celebrities, and royalty on some of the largest yachts in the world.

That experience shaped everything I believe about good service and the challenges of getting it right.

When I moved back to land and into private estate work, I realised something: the recruitment process in both yachting and private households was often fast, vague, and impersonal. One phone call, and suddenly you're moving house without really knowing what you’re signing up for.

Home Port Consultants was born from that frustration. We’re building a domestic staffing agency that puts real people, clear expectations, and long-term fit at the heart of everything we do.
