We are seeking an experienced and motivated Housekeeper to join the dedicated housekeeping team on a prestigious private estate in Chipping Norton. The estate’s 21-bedroom main house is set within stunning grounds and operates as a busy, full-time family residence, regularly hosting a wide range of events throughout the year.
The Role
Working under the Head Housekeeper and alongside four other housekeepers, you will be part of a close-knit team now expanding to seven to meet the needs of this exceptional home. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, across five days, with flexibility required during busy periods. Weekend work will be expected up to two weekends per month, depending on the family’s diary and events schedule.
This is a dynamic and varied position in a home that regularly hosts dinner parties, family gatherings, large corporate events, the shooting season, and several high-profile occasions. Service experience would be highly advantageous, as you will often be involved in preparing for and assisting during these events.
The household’s standards are meticulous, and a high attention to detail is essential. The house can go through exceptionally busy periods during events, so you must have the ability and willingness to work longer hours and maintain a fast pace without compromising on quality.
The family has three much-loved dogs, so you must be comfortable around animals and happy to help with their care when needed.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards across all areas of the home
Work collaboratively within a close-knit team, reporting to the Head Housekeeper
Prepare rooms for guests and events to an impeccable standard
Assist with event set-up, service, and post-event turnaround
Handle laundry, wardrobe care, and delicate fabrics
Provide occasional care for the family’s three dogs
Support the wider household team to ensure seamless service
About You
Previous experience in a high-end private household, luxury hotel, or similar environment
Service experience preferred, especially for formal events and dinners
High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining meticulous standards
Able and willing to work longer hours and at a fast pace during busy periods
Discreet, professional, and well-presented at all times
Dog friendly, with a willingness to assist in pet care
A team player with excellent attention to detail
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work to changing schedules
Confident working in a busy, fast-paced household
Hours & Salary
£40,000 per annum
40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7
Flexibility for additional hours during events and busy periods
