At Home Port Consultants, we specialise in placing highly trained, polished household staff into the most prestigious private households and estates across the beautiful Cotswolds.

We are seeking an exceptional, enthusiastic, and team-spirited Housekeeper to become an integral part of a bustling luxury private residence team in the heart of the Cotswolds. This is a truly dynamic setting. A warm and busy family home that also serves as a vibrant hub for entertaining, hosting a variety of distinguished events throughout the year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Housekeeper with a meticulous eye and a naturally sociable personality who thrives in an engaging, high-energy environment. If you are hardworking, enjoy being part of a collaborative team, and have a knack for building positive relationships, this role offers the chance to use your skills in a truly rewarding setting and genuinely connect with the family and guests.

What You’ll Do

Joining this prestigious Chipping Norton estate, you will be a key player in maintaining the highest standards while contributing to a positive household atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing comprehensive and meticulous daily and deep cleaning throughout the large private residence, ensuring all areas gleam and are presented to the highest standard.

  • Providing expert care for fine furnishings, antiques, valuable artwork, delicate surfaces, and specialist materials like silver and brass.

  • Managing all aspects of laundry with finesse, including the specialised care of high-end clothing, designer garments, delicate fabrics, and fine linens, alongside professional ironing and wardrobe organisation.

  • Ensuring bathrooms and private quarters are maintained to impeccable standards.

  • Handling household inventories and managing supplies efficiently.

  • Working collaboratively and effectively alongside other household staff (e.g., chefs, butlers, estate managers) to ensure seamless operations.

  • Providing discrete, professional, and friendly food and drink service during family meals and actively supporting a variety of estate events, contributing positively to the guest experience.

  • Anticipating household needs and proactively contributing to the smooth and harmonious running of the home.

  • Working 5 days a week, totalling 40 hours, with essential flexibility required to adapt to the demands of the family's schedule and frequent estate events.

  • Being available and willing to work longer hours (potentially 12+ hours) during event periods – seeing this as part of the exciting rhythm of the estate (Time in Lieu provided where possible).

  • Commitment to working over weekends and during holiday and festive seasons, embracing the lively nature of these periods.

What We’re Looking For

Beyond impeccable housekeeping skills, we are searching for a candidate who possesses the right attitude and interpersonal qualities:

  • Extensive, verifiable experience as a Housekeeper within luxury, high-end private households or prestigious estates, with proven expertise in detailed cleaning and care of fine items.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in high-quality laundry care for delicate and high-end items, including expert ironing and organisation.

  • Experience with silver care is highly desirable.

  • Comfortable, confident, and experienced in providing discrete and professional food and drink service, with a pleasant and helpful demeanour.

  • Must be genuinely comfortable around and fond of dogs, as the household includes family pets.

  • A naturally sociable, positive, and 'can-do' attitude.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the genuine ability to build a warm and professional rapport with the employers, family, and guests.

  • Proven ability to work seamlessly and supportively as an integral part of a dedicated household team.

  • A strong work ethic, exceptional reliability, and willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment.

  • Discretion and professionalism are paramount.

  • Excellent references from previous private household roles.
