We are seeking a warm, grounded and passionate cook or junior chef to join a distinguished private estate in the heart of the Cotswolds. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative and welcoming team, providing traditional home-cooked meals for a busy, down-to-earth family. The role offers flexibility and would suit someone early in their culinary career who values real food, fresh ingredients, and a chance to grow.
About the Role
This grand 20+ room estate is home to a family of five and runs with the support of a close-knit, professional household team. The family are looking for a reliable, skilled cook or junior chef to prepare wholesome, hearty meals 3 to 5 days per week, depending on your availability.
This is not a fine dining role. The family enjoy classic British favourites: roast dinners, fresh seasonal veg, simple salads, and barbecues in the summer. Their estate includes its own farm and kitchen garden, supplying exceptional home-reared beef and pork, alongside organic produce.
As part of the role, you’ll also be responsible for managing kitchen stock levels, maintaining well-organised pantry and cold storage systems, and sourcing fresh ingredients locally where needed. Building relationships with nearby farm shops, butchers, and suppliers will be encouraged.
Throughout the year, the family also host a range of private events from intimate dinners to larger occasions. You may be involved in supporting these, sometimes working alongside experienced London chefs. There’s also the option to train in the family’s fine dining restaurant in London for candidates who want to broaden their skills.
